We’re cloning the critically-acclaimed sci-fi brainteaser The Swapper onto PlayStation platforms this May.
Ah, clones. They are somewhat of a theme here at Curve, and we’re happy to continue that with theme with The Swapper, a dark, atmospheric puzzle game with a unique story, hand-crafted visuals and yes, plenty of clones! You can clone your character up to four times in The Swapper, and then take control of those clones to solve puzzles.
Created by Olli Harjola from Facepalm Games, The Swapper isn’t the type of game where you move from one puzzle set-up to another; it’s a got a dark and mature narrative that’s told partly through text and partly through the wonderful environments and visual style of the game, which were created using clay and other ‘real life’ modelling tools rather than traditional digital art. It’s a tense, claustrophobic world, but it’s also one with loads of detail and clever effects that really shine on a console.
We’ve been working on the Swapper for a few months now, and we’re really happy to be able to scream it from the rooftops. This game really shows off what indie titles can achieve – it’s hugely polished, impeccably balanced, immersive and, most importantly, it’s exploring themes and stories that are rarely examined in the more mainstream gaming world.
When’s it coming out?
The Swapper will be out Mid-May and will launch on all three platforms at the same time.
